THE KEW LAC STORY
Kew Little Athletics Centre was formed in 1967 and comprised of 3 clubs. There were 25 boys and 17 girls registered.
In 2007, the Centre celebrated its 40th year and a decade later, there were 350 athletes registered at the club. We are proud of club's history and heritage, and we acknowledge and celebrate the special role our Kew LAC life members have played in building our club.
Kew is in the Eastern Metropolitan Region, which consists of 13 centres: Box Hill, Camberwell/Malvern, Collingwood, Croydon, Doncaster, Lilydale, Ringwood Cockatoo, Knox, Nunawading, Sherbrooke, Waverley and Kew. Victoria is divided into 4 metropolitan and 4 country regions. Regions may be further divided into several divisions. Each Region is responsible for conducting qualifying heats in State Championship events for Little Athletes in its area.
Little Athletics began in Geelong in 1964 and has since grown to over 500 centres with over 50,000 athletes from all over Australia. See more about Little Aths Victoria here.
